The Vision

Favouring pleasing, low-maintenance plantings and mid-century style, the owners requested an attractive landscaping solution for their front entrance that would complement their house’s appearance and increase their property’s curb appeal.

Our Process

We designed a larger front entrance with a curved patio of mortared slate, shaping the garden to match its contours. Moving an existing mature Japanese Maple to the new bed created a focal point in the garden, drawing the eye up and extending the depth of the planting. To achieve that mid-century feel, we brought in the rarely used pink Rodgersia complemented by the dwarf Austrian Pine and some Hostas graced with wonderful large, white flowers.

  • “We are delighted with our new front yard. Marty and Catherine came up with a beautiful design and executed it perfectly. Three years later it’s even more exquisite than when it was first finished!”
